We publish for those
who still believe in slowness.

Better Books & Garments is a quiet rebellion against disposability — in both literature and clothing.

Our Mission

To restore weight to the act of living.

We create objects — both printed and sewn — that ask for your time and attention. In an age of endless scrolling, we offer garments that encourage lingering and books that reward slow reading.

Every garment is designed to be worn while reading. Every book is made to be held while wearing something that respects the body.

In Practice
  • Small-batch natural fibre garments
  • Hand-bound books on fine paper
  • No trend-driven collections
  • Objects built to age with dignity
Philosophy

Tactile Solitude

“To read closely is to dress with absolute intention. Both are declarations that we refuse to rush.”

— The Editors, Volume I

Our Vision

We envision a world where people once again own fewer, better things. Where a coat lasts decades and a book is passed down through generations. Where the objects we surround ourselves with carry memory, intention, and provenance.

Better Books & Garments was founded by Patrick Neil Alcantara, founder of Alien Inc. — the operating group behind Panteon intelligence tooling and The Daily Art Cult, of which this imprint is a part. The same long-horizon discipline that plans infrastructure to the year 3020 shapes every stitch and binding here.
